This Week at Busy Bee

by Ric on March 17, 2019

Hi Everyone and Happy St. Patrick’s Day,

Hope you all are having a nice weekend. Before I focus on the excitement of the upcoming week I want to reflect on a very fun and busy week that just happened at school. Double Dance Day’s with Miss Donna was a blast. Library time and a special visit from our good friends at La Petite Dent Pediatric Dentistry were also a big highlight. The ladies from La Petite Dent put on a great demonstration for the children and the children were talking about the visit and good dental practices the rest of the week. Many of the parents who use La Petite Dent, rave about how happy they are using them as their dental practice.

This week the classes will continue to work on their special Rainbow Shape Collages to decorate our rooms for the spring. The children will also begin work on another great activity that we hope will usher in spring the right way. This week will also be letter K week at school.

We have one more week till our second annual Busy Bee Dance Festival… and all of the dancers are doing such a great job. Please remember that all children are welcome to attend school the day of their classes dance time and families are more than welcome to attend as well. We are asking that families dress the children in Black and Yellow for the day!!! This is the schedule for the Festival:

Tuesday March 26 9:20- Miss Sue’s Class
Tuesday March 26 11:00- Miss Dawn’s Morning Class
Wednesday March 27-11:00- Mr. Ric’s Morning Class
Wednesday March 27- 12:45- Mr. Ric and Miss Dawn’s Afternoon Classes.

This week the classes will be doing another Double Dance Day with Miss Donna on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Miss Dawn’s Morning Class will also be visiting the library this week on Thursday. Families are welcome to join us for Story Time at 11:10. Please do try and return your child’s library book before Thursday of the this week so the children have plenty of choices. There is a good deal of books that have not been returned to the library in a few weeks, so please check and see if you have any at your home.

This week will be the 8 week of the Winter Session of Gym. Gym classes that were missed due to snow days are are not counted as gym weeks, so there are three more weeks left in all three gym class days.

Thank you everyone who has shown interest in the Busy Bee Summer Program. A number of the weeks are almost filled up already. So if you are interested in having your child attend camp this summer please let me know or return your application. Please also return your application for the 2019-2020 school year if you have yet to do so.

Thanks everyone and have a great day,
Mr. Ric

Winter Fun at Busy Bee

by Ric on January 27, 2019

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a nice weekend. We are all set for a very fun week as we get ready to say goodbye to January. The classes are continuing to work on their own personal narratives about what they would like to do on a Snowy Day!!! It will also be letter I week at school this week as well.
This week Miss Sue’s morning class will be visiting the library on Wednesday at 11:10.

February is going to be a very special month at Busy Bee as we prepare for Valentines Day. This year it just so happens that Valentines Day turns out to be 100th Day of School… which will just make it a much bigger celebration. Families are more than welcome to send in Valentines for the other students in your child’s class. We do ask that if you send in Valentines please do not address them to individual students, just put your child’s name on the Valentine or have your child write their name on them. This will make it much easier for us to help your child distribute the Valentines, especially since we will still be doing our giant 100th Day of School Treasure Hunt that day as well. There will be a sign up sheet in front of your child’s classroom over the next couple days letting families know what is needed for the treasure hunt.

Valentines/100 Day Treasure Hunt is a day for just the children, sorry grown-ups…. and all children are welcome to attend school that day.

The last week of February will be Dr. Suess Week at Busy Bee as we prepare for the good Dr.s’ Birthday on March 2.

On Tuesday March 26 and Wednesday March 27 Busy Bee will be hosting it’s second annual Dance Festival with Miss Donna. The children have been having so much fun all year working on their dances with Miss Donna and the time has come for us to show off our moves. There will be much more info about the dance festival over the next two months but:
Miss Sue’s Morning Class and Miss Dawn’s Morning Class will be dancing on Tuesday March 26.
Mr. Ric’s Morning Class and Both Afternoon Classes will be dancing on Wednesday March 27.

Thanks and please let me know if you have any questions about any of the fun events coming up.
Mr. Ric
